New on Prime Video this October
Love of Your Life (October 14) is Prime’s big original film this month. Directed by Rachel Morrison and starring Margaret Qualley, Gabriel Basso, and Aaron Pierre, it’s a romantic drama about an ER nurse whose whirlwind romance falls apart and who has to figure out whether there’s more than one love of a lifetime. Expect tears rather than laughs.
Now You See Me: Now You Don’t brings the magic-heist franchise to streaming. The third film reunites the original Four Horsemen, Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Lizzy Caplan, adds a new generation played by Justice Smith, Ariana Greenblatt, and Dominic Sessa, and sets Rosamund Pike against them. It’s not the strongest entry, but it’s a fun ride.
Horror fans get Scream 7, which hit theaters in February and is now streaming, plus a new Stanley Tucci action film. For international flavor, there’s the French-Italian heist movie Masterplan (October 16) and the Spanish zombie film Apocalypse Z: New World (October 31), perfect for Halloween week.
Classics that just landed
October brought some heavyweight catalog additions. All three Lord of the Rings films arrived on October 26, which is your sign to finally do the extended-edition marathon.
