How to Reset Your Spotify Password (2-Minute Guide)

Go to Spotify’s password-reset page, enter the email address or username on your account, and click the link Spotify emails you — you’re back in within about two minutes, and you don’t even need to be logged in. One catch: if you originally signed up with Apple, Google, or Facebook, there is no Spotify password to reset.

Reset your Spotify password

Grab your phone or open a browser — the steps are identical on any device. All you need is access to the email address on your Spotify account. (Flow checked against Spotify’s support docs, October 2026.)

Go to Spotify’s password reset page — search “Spotify password reset” or find it in Spotify’s help center.
Enter the email address or username linked to your Spotify account, then click Send.
Open your inbox and look for an email titled “Reset your password” from Spotify. If it isn’t there within a few minutes, check your spam, junk, or Gmail’s Social/Promotions tabs.
Click the Reset password button in the email. If the link doesn’t work, request a fresh reset email and open the new link in a private or incognito browser window.
Type your new password twice, then click Send.
Open the Spotify app and log in with your new password.

And that’s it! Pick something long and unique — and save it in a password manager so you don’t do this dance again.

If the email never arrives, don’t keep hammering the Send button — too many requests can temporarily lock you out, so wait a bit or try a different browser. If you signed up through Apple, Google, or Facebook, skip the reset entirely: you never set a Spotify password, so just sign in with that service and manage your credentials there. And if you no longer have access to the email address on the account, the reset link has nowhere to go — your realistic options are recovering that old email address, or starting a fresh Spotify account.
